Small waves, Plenty of school work, and Kind words

I haven't had the best luck with waves lately. Every swell keeps hitting over the weekend while I am gone on work trips. I have still been getting in the water when I am home even though conditions are small and not that good.

My friend and co worker Gabriel Enamorado is a really good photographer and has a cool website and blog you should check out. He took a shot of me that I think captures exactly how I felt this day. The day before I worked 16 hours and had to write my portion for a team project most of the night. I only slept three hours. The day this shot was taken was a long day. We worked 17 hours, took everything down and loaded everything up from the event. I knew that the paper that I was starting to work on was going to take me all night to finish and that I would probably going to have NO sleep until my 4am flight.

My friend Taylor Morey who I use to talk stories with about bodyboarding during High School recently messaged me on facebook and wrote these kind words, "Holy mother dude reading your website inpires me! You have got to be the busiest guy I know, don't know how u do it. All that school and work daaaaannngggg mad props man but hey looks like ur rippin it on the boogey."
Whenever I get a emails, messages, text, or twitter mentions from family or friends about how hard I am working it gives me a extra boost to keep going. Anybody who has taken the time to write to me thank you because your words really motivate and push me to keep on going!

Ring of Fire 2 is coming soon and the US open of Bodyboarding

A few big things are taking place in cali soon. One is the US Open of Bodyboarding which is going to take place June 4th to the 6th on the south side of the Hungtington Beach Pier. I just got word that Sean English and Chris Taloa will be doing the MC for the event. The wealth of knowledge that those two guys have on bodyboarding is crazy so expect to learn some facts that you had no clue about and get ready to laugh! The amount of competitiors and the level that will be competing is going to be extremely high. My house will most likely be packed with people from all over haha You can get more info HERE. Pray for good waves!!!
Robert Isambert has been putting in some crazy hours finishing up his video project Ring of Fire 2 which will premiere on June 5th in San Clemente. For all the hard work he has been putting into this video it is easy to expect that it will be one of the BEST modern day Mainland videos to hit shelves. The premiere is going to be insane and with ticket prices at only $10 you HAVE to make it out. Plus you get to meet some of the top pros, get amped on a new video, meet new people and have a good time!

My 23rd birthday, Jason Hall, The W, and Falcon BB shop

Yesterday was my birthday. It wasn't my usual crazy adventure fun filled day. Instead it was the complete opposite. I got to go to the beach in the morning followed by HW, writing two big papers, a team assignment and having to take two Finals! It was a pretty stressful day to say the least. I got tons and tons of text messages, twitter shout outs and the most Facebook Happy Birthday ever which put a HUGE smile on my face! Thank you everyone! I finished both my MKT 438 and COM 285 classes last night and just started a Statistics class today. It is going to be my most challenging classes to date for sure! My mom made tacos and my family came over along with my best friend KJ. It was a good way to finish off my busy day!

23! 23! haha

It is pretty cool when you find a person that gets you super amped to get in the water all the time no matter what the conditions or size is like. For me this guy Jason Hall who is my friend just fires me up to get in the water all the time when I am home and im usually going twice a day! I haven't told him and I don't even think he knows but reading his blog and seeing how on it he is, is pretty motivating. Every time I talk with him he will usually know where the best spot is for that day locally. He has a killer blog that he usually updates daily. Check it out Here

Evan Deverian was surfing the BEST I have ever seen him surf in my life this day! So stoked for these two groms!

Last week I met up with RXYM owner Ray Machado to get my new board stamped. We met at Falcon Bodyboard shop in Encinitas. I cruised down with my friend Dorin Buchan and Shea Sevilla. We had a pretty fun driving adventure. Dorin and I got some waves on the way home to! Fun day cruising with my friends for sure!

Guilherme Tamega comes to town and Happy Mothers Day!

One of the main reasons when I was a freshly 20 year old that I signed with my board sponsor Wave Rebel was due to the fact that 6x World Champion Guilherme Tamega was on the team and that I would get the chance to pick his brain, hang out and learn from such a successful person in the sport of bodyboarding. He has won pretty much every contest along with the World Title 6x and being runner up 6x! In any sport that is INSANE consistancy!
On April 29th he came to town and stayed at my place before he left on his world tour adventures. Being able to surf, talk, and learn from someone as successful as him means a lot to me. We had such a busy day from looking at all the new Wave Rebel and V-Duck product, to meetings, interviews, signing posters, getting boards shaped, and of course bodyboarding!
Tamega just got 2nd in the IBA Buzios Pro which is a really good result! He also just got a website which you can check out HERE. Below are some photos from the day along with a edit I put together while we were at the Wave Rebel headquarters.

(The waves in this were not from that day)

Today I got home from Iowa from a work trip just in time for Mothers day! I hope all you moms out there got spoiled like my mom and and sister in law emma did today! I love you mom!!!
