Even A Haircut Can Bring About Change

After my haircut
It’s funny what a haircut can do for me.  You might be saying, “What do you mean?” After I get a haircut, I always feel like a new person:  more motivated and confident.

Less hair in the water feels NICE

As I thought about this a bit more, I realized that when you look and feel good, you act differently.  One simple change that you do can help your mindset and even results.  It’s like that quote, “For things to change you have to change.”  A close friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend of many years and decided that she needed a change and wanted to be a new person.  She had really long hair and cut over 12 inches off.  I remember asking her, “WHY would you do such a thing?”  She told me that it made her feel like a NEW person and everything that happened was forgotten and in the past.  Fast forward a year later: she is eating right, reading a lot, and transformed herself to the person that she wanted to become.  That is an EXTREME example, but that is what a haircut helped her to do.

How's the long hair

For a solid week I was getting a bit off track on my fitness, reading and business goals and overall being a bit lazy.  I thought back to my friend that got the haircut and started to become the person she envisioned.  So I thought, “What the heck.  Let me get a haircut and see what happens.”  I have one of the most talented friends in the hair biz Sean Scotts and booked an appointment with him.  What was so cool is that just talking with him, hearing how well he was doing in life, listening to what he wants to accomplish and all of the traveling he did just that month started motivating me to get my butt in gear and work harder!

Daily Look

If you know you are not giving 100% or if you want to change, figure out what it is that will help change your attitude, confidence and motivation!  It might not be a haircut; it could be a road trip, going to the library, live music event, working out, riding your bike, getting a massage etc.  I believe doing something that is outside of your norm will help you in this area.  Leave a comment on what you do to get that extra motivation after doing the same thing time after time.
