Back Home and ZINKA till 2010!!

The day before I left to come back to Cali I got to stay with my friend Nick Seymore in town. We got some really fun waves at Makapu. It was my first time surfing there and there were tons of good local guys killing it. My friend Justin got a bunch of water shots that day and sent me some.

My stuff all packed up and ready to go

The day after I got home to Cali I knew there was gonna be some fun south swell and I headed to Wedge. It was such a blast! I surfed from 7am-2:30pm straight with only a 15 minute break to catch up with Alternative Surf owner Ron Ziebell. It was so cool seeing him there and catching him up on all the stuff that happened on my trip.
Carlos and Matt Byzak were taking some water shots, and matt sent me one of them.

I think this was Matts first time using his housing and all I can say is he is a natural

The next day I got to get some lunch with one of the men who had a huge influence on my life, Mr. Twal. He is to this day my favorite teacher I have ever had and taught me so much. He inspired me to do my best always and to go after my dreams. He also showed me that anything is possible by pushing me in school and making me earn my grades and getting a 4.00 gpa! Twal is such a legend and everytime I hang out or catch up with him I am literally try to be a sponge by learning from him and take all his advice. He is blessed with a super rad wife and will be having a new baby in the next week! Big BIG congrats to the TWAL family!!!

Me and the LEGEND Mr. Twal!

The cool thing about Dads is that they tell you things straight! When I got my luggage at the airport and my parents and I were walking to the car talking and my dad said that my hair looked horrible and that I had to get a haircut right away so I listened to my dad and cut the mop down.

I dont think anyone likes new haircuts but hanging out with my really funny aunt nancy makes it that much sweeter!

When I go on trips I usually wind up sleeping on couches, grounds, just anywhere I can. In hawaii I had a little pad brent let me use for the ground and then got promoted to a bed at the end of my trip. I always go and see my chiropractor to get re-aligned. Everyone there is super nice and they always have the newest Sports Illustrated magazines which is rad

My back feels 100x better after getting re adjusted! Thanks!

My sister in law Christinas bday was on the 18th but we celebrated it on the 21st. We went to this awesome restaurant called Shenandoa is Los Al.

Since I have been home I have been surfing everyday and usually twice! I even got a super fun day at creek with Phil Harnsberger which was super fun. Already thinking of the USBA contest that will be there in May! Along with many tennis matches at night and working at Alternative Surf the loads. Its been so rad to catch up with so many friends! I can't wait for some more swell. I also got to babysit my niece Cassia with my parents! She is sooo sooo funny!

I also signed a two year deal with Zinka which I am really looking forward too! Everyone there is so nice and super cool. They have amazing product and some really wild sunscreen colors! My manager Russ created a great plan for both them and I which should be sweet!

Hawaii Pad

Here is a clip of my "crib" that I get to stay at while in Hawaii. Thanks Bielmans!

The last few days have been super cool, ive been able to hang out Guilherme Tamega and surf a bunch with him to which is always awesome! The guy has won 6 world titles and is full of wisdom, storys, experience etc.. So stoked
Today I thought the waves were going to be all time but I was wrong. The swell was there but the wind and I dont know something else just killed it, BUMMED! Hopefully tommorow gets better. Mark Klein who use to live with my and my family back in Cali made the drive to the north shore so I decided to make breakfeast for us which was super cool. He is hands down one of the funniest people I know so by the time he left my gut was hurting from all the laughing that took place haha

I went with toby to Waimea today to do some bodysurfing and a bit of training.

March madness

The waves haven't been the best in March still fun but nothing to amazing yet due to the winds being bad for the north shore. That hasn't stoped me from getting in the warm water everyday though! Even swimming against the current is sweet. Since the waves haven't been epic I have been helping uncle Greg out at work. He has his own construction business and I have been able to learn a lot from him. I mean if you have done something for 30 years you have a lot of knowledge about fixing and making things.

I also was able to finish my last book "Road Warriors" which was super good. It was basically about how to keep your faith, relationships, and integrity when away from home. WOW, yeah good right! I also have been able to start a new book that my dad got me a while a go called "Gifted Hands" by Ben Carson.

Old book, new book. If you have any suggestions on a book just leave a comment

Finally going to school online you have to spend a lot of time studying, doing assignments, and reading. Living with all guys things get crazy. The other day our friend Toby (he holds the biggest wave ever paddled into EVER!!) decided to throw a few fireworks in the room while I was studying haha It was pretty funny until the trash lit on fire and things almost got out of hand. All in all nothing happened except my room filling up with smoke, me not being able to breathe properly. Man living with the Bielman clan is epic!

I also got to go to a Mens conference today with Uncle Greg (the guy I live with) which was so sweet! Brian Wise (former pro bodyboarder) was there to and I got to get lunch with him, the guy has the most amazing stories of all the sweet places he has been to and loves to share about all his crazy adventures. It was an awesome day!
